Description

Financial Controller with 10+yrs experience including some in the pharma industry required for permanent role in Cork.


 
JOB PURPOSE:
This position, reporting to the General manager, involves management of the site’s standard costing system, budgeting/forecasting process, and monthly financial reporting process

 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Controlling

Assure 100% compliance to all local tax regulations
Establish and maintain the organisations accounting principles, best practices and procedures
Prepare financial reports and present findings and recommendations to senior management
Direct the preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, annual budgets, annual audited financial statements and other required reports
Interact with corporate finance group for reporting and financing needs
Continuous improvement in management control, namely in the efficiency of resources and their productivity oriented towards a policy based on cost assessment and control

Purchasing

Management and coordination of procurement and purchasing activity of materials, assuring that the supply needs in time, quantity, quality and GMP compliance are met.
To manage the quality/ price/ availability/ reproducibility relationship with suppliers, evaluating internally each situation in order to adequately match the purchasing strategy to the needs of the business

Order Processing

Management and coordination of customer service ensuring that customer purchase orders are effectively and efficiently handled to exceed customer expectations (order confirmation, internal dialogues with BU’s and manufacturing site, shipping arrangements)

Warehouse: To manage and coordinate the chemicals and non-chemicals warehouses activities ensuring that area responsibilities are handled efficiently and to a high level of customer satisfaction
Responsible for maintaining the warehouse and it’s activities in a state of compliance with HSE and cGMP regulations.

IT: To plan and implement the IT strategy that represents a competitive added value and a success factor to the company

 

Requirements:

  • University graduate with qualification in the field of Business, Engineering or Finance
  • Qualified accountant – ACCA/ CIMA/ ACA
  • Circa 10+ years experience at senior managerial level (Finance area)
  • Some experience at a senior level in the pharma industry.
  • Experience of SAP essential
  • Ideally the candidate would have experience managing the supply chain function or at least have done project work in that area.
  • Candidates who started their career in one of the big 4 and then progressed into industry could be a good fit.
  • Ability to motivate, direct, lead and manage senior managers.
  • Extensive training and experience in the areas of Leadership, Motivation, General Management.
  • Strong commercial orientation with proven track record of applying sound judgement in financial decision making which has delivered demonstrable business results
