Continuous Improvements Shift Leader - Dublin.

 

JOB PURPOSE:
Lead and drive Continuous Improvement (CI) projects and activities across shifts to meet operational objectives.

This role will be based on 12 hour day shifts i.e. 4 days on (7am to 7pm), followed by 4 days off, after which the pattern repeats itself.

Within each shift the CI Shifts Leader is a change agent and a key to implementing manufacturing strategy by utilising lean manufacturing and six sigma methodologies. Effectively provide leadership and enhance CI activities through aligning, training, supervising, administrating, coaching, and project/metric tracking. Coach and mentor employees including management on CI methods and issue resolution for new and existing projects. Serves as a resource for CI related information. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Ensure continuity and alignment of CI activities across shifts.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Drive and sustain Continuous Improvement (CI) activities and programs such as: 5S, LDMS, TPM, Standard Work and 20 Keys.
• Direct  and lead training and educational sessions within shifts to ensure associates are knowledgeable in and have the ability to follow Standard Work, GMPs, 20 Keys, Lean, Six Sigma, KAS, 5S and other CI programs.
• Assist in the development of shift manufacturing goals and objectives.
• Create and manage shift CI Calendars.
• Track shift CI metrics.
• Participate in and support Plant CI initiatives.
• Act as a role model, mentor and coach to others, within and outside of the shift as related to CI initiatives.
• Develop and update shifts VSMs to drive CI.
• Facilitate blitzes throughout the plant.
• Comply with all safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Comply with all localquality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Degree in engineering or science based discipline preferred but not essential.
• Lean Leader and Six Sigma Green Belt trained, preferred but not essential.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:
• A minimum of 2 years' experience in lean manufacturing is essential and must have a proven track record in implementing change. Will also have experience in facilitation, operations, engineering or quality.
• Must have knowledge of lean concepts, six sigma methodology, validation processes.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication as well as computer and mathematical skills.
