 Packaging Technical Specialist - Sweden.

Packaging Technical Specialist (Technical Support) for it's operations in weden.

In this role you will be based in Stockholm, with approximately 15% of your time being spent outside Sweden in external supplier partner facilities.

Responsibilities of this role:
The job holder will be responsible for the technical packaging activities in the successful introduction of new packaging technologies, formats and processes. Additionally the job holder will be responsible for managing the implementation of packaging related value engineering activities.

The job holder will be responsible for the technical activities linked to the approved transfer of packaging components, products or packaging equipment between manufacturing sites.

The job holder will be a primary departmental contact person to provide appropriate support to manufacturing and distribution facilities.

 

Tasks:
The job holder will manage the following tasks relating to the development of packaging, products and processes:

• Project Management of non NPD category specific packaging developments, e.g. Product or component transfers, general specification changes to accommodate legislative changes
• Primary technical support to manufacturing and distribution facilities, assisting them in the development of strategic plans for equipment purchases. Coordinating appropriate regular meetings between packaging developers and facility staff.
Ensuring the timely transfer of product, component and technology information in order to provide efficient development of new products and the evolution of existing products.
• Coordinates the development of Value Analysis initiatives by engaging stakeholders in the agreement of targets for cost reduction or quality improvement and defining and implementing project plans accordingly.
• Coordination, approval and reporting of all necessary filling line and transit trials
• Manages regular design reviews and risk analyses (FMEA); in order to ensure the development of highest quality products, in line with category marketing plans.

Areas of Support:
The job holder will give support to the following areas:

• NPD – the job holder will the support the NPD teams in the evaluation of new product concepts by managing necessary design reviews and risk analyses. Additionally, the job holder will provide continuous expert advice to the project teams with particular reference to design for manufacture and distribution.
• Purchasing – the job holder will support the central purchasing team by co-ordinating the implementation of the supplier technical approval. Additionally, the job holder will support the introduction of value engineering, in line with the Purchasing strategy.
• Manufacturing – the job holder will support the manufacturing and filling locations (internal and external) by facilitating the timely review of products and components in the development cycle and by co-ordination the testing and approval of components and products through filling line trials..
• Distribution - the job holder will support the distribution facilities by facilitating the timely review of products and components in the development cycle and by co-ordination of the testing and approval of components and products through distribution trials

 

 

Candidate Profile:

The job holder should have a minimum of 5 years' experience as a Packaging Developer in an appropriate Production or New Product Development environment. The job holder should be educated to degree level or equivalent and be registered with an appropriate Packaging Institute.
